In Booxi, language settings are referenced in different places. Therefore, it’s important to know the difference between these settings and how they affect your account and your clients.

Application language
This is the language in which the application will be presented to the user currently using the platform; see here for a list of the languages Booxi supports.
This can be set at any time by clicking the language button at the top right of the screen as shown below:
Translation language(s)
These are the languages that your business-specific content (e.g. services) will be displayed in, which will be visible to your clients in the booking widget, on your booking page, in emails and SMS messages. To access this setting, go to My Business > Booking rules > Languages, as shown below:
This setting exists so that you can provide your own translations for certain terms (see below), instead of the system automatically translating them for you.

Example: your chosen translation languages are English, French and Spanish; your default language is English.
You have a service called “Haircut” (this is what’s displayed in your default language).
In French, you choose to name the service “Coupe de cheveux”
In Spanish, you choose to name the service “Corte de pelo”.
This is what the client sees when he opens the booking widget with the language set to Spanish:
Preferred personnel language
This determines the language of the transactional emails (i.e. booking confirmations, modifications and cancellations) sent to the chosen staff member.
Staff members who have access to their own Booxi account will be able to edit this setting. To edit this value, go to the "Personnel" tab > {select a staff profile} > Personnel Details > Preferred Language
Client preferred language
This determines the language of all communications (e.g. booking confirmations, reminders, modifications, etc.) sent to the chosen client.
To edit this, go to the "Clients" tab > {select a client} > Client details > Preferred Language.
