"What determines the booking interval shown to clients in the booking widget?"

It depends on your online personnel selection mode and time selection mode (if applicable)

Updated this week

The booking interval shown to clients when booking online is either based on the service's booking interval (see service booking rules) or the personnel's (see personnel booking rules).

Here are all the potential outcomes:

  1. If your online personnel selection mode is set to “Personnel Selection”:

    1. The booking interval will be based on the chosen personnel’s interval.

  2. If your online personnel selection mode is set to “No Personnel Selection” and your time selection mode is set to “Ask client availability”:

    1. No booking interval will be applied.

  3. If your online personnel selection mode is set to “No Personnel Selection” and your time selection mode is set to “Display time slots without availability check”, “Display time slots with auto-dispatch” or “Display time slots with auto-dispatch (resource)”:

    1. The booking interval will be based on the service’s interval.

Note that in case 3, if the time selection mode is set to “Display time slots with auto-dispatch” or “Display time slots with auto-dispatch (resource), the interval shown to clients will be affected by the availability schedule of its assigned staff member(s). Consider this example:

  • The service booking interval is 1 hour.

  • The service has 2 assigned members: member A and member B.

  • The store is open from 9 AM - 5 PM.

  • Member A is scheduled to start at 10 AM; member B is scheduled to start at 10:30 AM.

  • The interval shown to clients will be:

    • 10 AM (i.e. member A's start time)

    • 10:30 AM

    • 11:00 AM

    • 11:30 AM

    • etc.

Even though the service interval is 1 hour, the interval displayed is 30 minutes because the system takes into account the availability of the assigned staff members (in this case, staff member B is available from 10:30 AM onwards).

If the time selection mode is set to “Display time slots without availability check”, the interval shown to clients will NOT be affected by the availability schedule of its assigned staff member(s).

  • Applying the same conditions as mentioned above, the interval shown to clients will be:

    • 9:00 AM (i.e. the store start time)

    • 10:00 AM

    • 11:00 AM

    • 12:00 PM

    • etc.

If your online personnel selection mode is set to “No Preference + Personnel Selection”, the outcome will depend on what the client chooses during online booking:

  • If the client chooses "No preference", refer to # 2 or 3 (depending on your time selection mode).

  • If the client chooses a specific staff member, refer to #1.

If a resource is assigned to your service, all the same rules apply.
